Gift Exchange

  • Nov. 29th, 2009 at 11:58 PM
We are having a gift exchange at work, so I scrapped up a page and put it in a frame. It's going into a nice reusable tote bag with a pretty necklace/earring set.

cricut sale?

  • Nov. 26th, 2009 at 6:20 PM
help!!!!!

tomorrow walmart has a cricut expression on sale for $188 - i can't tell if it's the same as the Cricut Expression 24-Inch Personal Electronic Cutting Machine that is $279 that i've had my eye on for about 2 years now. Anyone know if there's a difference?

Thanks!

cricut questions

  • Nov. 26th, 2009 at 12:48 AM

Okay I apologize if these questions have already been asked but I haven't been on lj in, well...years?

I have a few questions about the cricut. I just bought the smaller, older model for $99 at AC Moore and now I see the Expression with a cartridge bundle is only $250 on Black Friday. Should I risk my life to get that instead? Or will the one I already got suffice?

Along those lines, I bought the Happily Ever After cartridge. It says it cuts best with the Expression. Has anyone used it with the other model? Will it work fine? Or should I return it before opening?

And those paper pads, do they sell coordinating ones to match? Like do they sell one with the right colors I need to make Cinderella, etc or do I have to match it up on my own?

Thanks so much!

Not sure I like this pallet though. I might try different colors.

Embossing

  • Nov. 24th, 2009 at 10:20 PM
Hey everyone.
I've recently stepped into the world of stamping and embossing. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get the best turn outs. I have stamps, embossing ink pads, powder, and a heat gun that I am learning to use but so far my work seems to be a little messy. I am unable to get an entire image to pop out for the most part and I think that maybe my ink dries too fast and the powder sticks unevenly. Any suggestions on ink pad brands that work best? Or a trick to make the ink stay wetter faster?

Thanks!

Hello everyone!

I started with scrapbooking and am now obsessively making cards.
It's nice to see this group as I like to take pictures of the pages/cards I make just looking to share them with someone who is interested. Looks like I've found my place!

Excited to contribute,

Alyshaelizabeth.
Since I'm 900% broke, this Christmas I decided to make something for my parents. They've just become grandparents for the first time, so I was thinking I could make them a 12 year calendar with their grandkid as the main photos.

He is only 2 months old right now, so I can't really have him posing for certain shoots or make anything overly clever, but I definitely wanted to have what he's wearing (or the scenery) to be in tune with the months. Could anyone please suggest how to go about doing this?

For example, the month of December he could be wearing one of the Christmas outfits I've bought him this year, and be holding a present, or he could be near a miniature Christmas tree. . . etc. What about some of the other months? Any ideas would be SO MUCH appreciated!!!
